Resin, hand-tied flies, faucet fixture

8 in x 3 in x 8 in (each)

Chrome bathtub faucets release cast-resin light bulbs in place of water, each one holding hand-tied flies. The faucet pieces point to our daily use of natural resources and ask whether we are conscious or unconscious of how we use, or abuse, them. Hung in a pyramid, they create a waterfall effect that traces the trickle-down of our impact on the environment. The series grew out of a home repair: Lopez was installing a new bathtub faucet with a light bulb in his other hand.
